The San Francisco 49ers have promoted veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks from their practice squad to the active roster.

The team announced the move ahead of Week 4, adding another experienced option to a wide receiver group dealing with several injuries. San Francisco also signed wide receiver Malik Turner to its practice squad.

Cooks is entering his 13th NFL season and brings extensive experience to the 49ers’ receiving corps.

San Francisco has dealt with several receiver injuries, including players on injured reserve, while Mike Evans has also been dealing with an injury heading into Sunday’s matchup with Denver.

Cooks’ promotion gives San Francisco another veteran option as the team manages its receiver depth.

NFL’s current roster also lists Cooks as an active San Francisco player.
